▪️ PetroTal leads an inter-institutional effort to identify and treat patients suffering from this disease.

In order to contribute to the fight against anemia in the Puinahua district of Loreto, PetroTal, operator of Lot 95, articulated efforts with different governmental, regional and local authorities to develop the united against anemia" campaign in all localities, communities and hamlets of said jurisdiction.

This campaign is aimed at pregnant women and children under three years of age.The most vulnerable population to the consequences of this disease, which is mainly caused by poor nutrition.

The initiative is the result of a synergy between PetroTal, the Regional Health Management (GERESA) of Loreto, the Cuna Más and PAIS programs, the ACLAS Bretaña Micro-Network and the District Municipality of Puinahua.

Pregnant mothers and babies go through a point-of-care anemia screening and control and, if the results determine that they are suffering from this disease, they receive nutritional supplements to start their recovery treatment. As a complement to the campaign, the brigadistas provided health services to the general population, such as vaccination against COVID-19, hepatitis, HPV and pneumococcus, as well as dental care, general medicine, laboratory, ultrasound, among others, completely free of charge.

PetroTal provided logistical facilities and equipment for the development of the project, which began on January 23 and will run until February 4. To date, the campaign has reached seven of the 18 localities in the district. Jens Romero, manager of ACLAS Brittany, expressed his deep gratitude to PetroTal for supporting articulated efforts that make it possible to serve the population. In turn, Mayra Torres, leader of the GERESA brigade, highlighted the fact that they have been given the necessary support to deploy different health services.
