The integration, commitment and desire to improve made it possible for the Association of Artisanal Fishermen June 7 and the Association of Artisanal Fishermen Huarmi Isla obtained a financing of S/. 50 thousand, each, in the Entrepreneurs by Nature 2025 competition, to implement their sustainable fishing project for the paiche and the common carachama, respectively.

This financing is possible thanks to the Environmental Compensation Plan that PetroTal has committed to the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, which has financed nine sustainable projects this year.

The association 7 de Junio groups more than a hundred people from the community of the same name., The project will enable them to strengthen their capacity and equipment to carry out a planned and sustainable extraction of paiche in the Tipishca oxbow lake, located within the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, in the district of Puinahua (Loreto).

Likewise, members of the Huarmi Isla association, from the district of Requena, will receive training and equipment for common carachama fishing in the Caño Huarmi oxbow lake, also inside the reserve.
