The Iquitos audience that gathered at the Hilton Hotel for the launch of the King Brittany brand was not only able to learn about the exemplary and sustainable work carried out by fishermen in the district of PuinahuaThey also tasted the novel foods made with the meat of the traditional paiche.

These fishermen, organized in the well-known Organización Social de Pescadores y Procesadores Artesanales (OSPPA) Arahuana Fish, have for years been carrying out a sustainable, formal and planned extraction of paiche in the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.

Thanks to the support received by PetroTal, the civil association Despensa Amazónica, the CITE Productivo Maynas, the SERNANP and other allies, as part of the Fishing Innovation Project, they have consolidated a productive circle that culminates with the hamburger production, nuggetssausages and special cuts with paiche.

These novel foods will be marketed from the end of 2024 with the King Bretaña brand and since the beginning of last January are the first products of their kind to have a sanitary registration. "The achievements that the fishermen are making with the project fill us with pride because they show that joint efforts can generate great changes," said Raúl Farfán, PetroTal's vice-president of Sustainability.
