• * Growth of the social fund requires the continued and full operation of Lot 95 to finance projects and interventions.
  • * The Solidarity Contribution was a PetroTal commitment, within the framework of the Technical Committee of Block 95.

The sustainable and socially responsible oil activity carried out by PetroTal, a company led and operated by Peruvians, provided a direct economic benefit, using resources from the Development Fund, to the elderly, widows, people with health problems and teenage mothers in the district of Puinahua (Requena, Loreto), in consensus with the authorities and organizations of that jurisdiction.

The Extraordinary Economic Solidarity Contribution delivered last week in Puinahua was a commitment assumed by PetroTal, within the framework of the Technical Round Table of Lot 95, with resources from the Development Fund of the Puinahua district to attend to the needs of its neighboring population and reactivate its economy after the impact caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

"The contribution is an achievement for PetroTal, made possible by the voluntary transfers we made to the Puinahua District Development Fund as a result of the uninterrupted operation of Block 95 and the transportation of its production," said Luis Pantoja, general manager of the company.

Luis Pantoja stated that only with the safe and continuous oil activity in the district, the fund -to which PetroTal allocates the value of 2.5% of its audited production each month, provided that there are no stoppages due to social conflict in its operation or means of transportation- will have a sustained growth that will allow the execution of works and interventions that will improve the quality of life of the population, in a direct, equal and participatory manner.

He emphasized that the work developed jointly in the Technical Committee of Lot 95 has been productive and that, based on the commitments assumed, PetroTal is promoting the concretization of the operational aspects necessary for the prompt implementation of the administration of the fund.

North Peruvian Oil Pipeline (ONP)

Luis Pantoja emphasized the need to find a sustainable and lasting solution for the reactivation of the ONP. He recalled that this is a critical national asset, fundamental for the growth of the oil industry, which deserves special attention from the authorities and careful work at the social level, in order to avoid incidents that affect the environment and the surrounding communities.

PetroTal, the national leader in crude oil production, has been producing in a restricted manner due to the inoperability of the ONP. We consider that it is necessary to reactivate it in order to increase sales and contributions to the Puinahua District Development Fund," said Luis Pantoja.

New well drilled

PetroTal reported that the drilling of the 13H horizontal well reached its maximum depth on October 4 and, when this new well is put into operation, the company will produce more than 20,000 barrels per day in North Brittany if it has the ideal weather and logistical conditions.
