Currently, the 12H produces 3650 barrels of oil per day and is expected to produce more.
Boards of Directors of PetroTal and Perupetro approved the addendum that creates the fund for Puinahua.
PetroTal, a Peruvian-led and operated company, reported that it put on production the 12H well in the Bretaña Norte field of Block 95 (Requena - Loreto) with an approximate yield of 2900 barrels of oil per day (bopd) in its first 10 days of operation, which began on December 16. As of December 27, the well's productivity has increased to 3650 bopd.
"We are confident that the 12H well will continue to increase production over the next week. We look forward to seeing its full potential," said Luis Pantoja, PetroTal's general manager.
Addendum approved
The company stated that its board of directors authorized the inclusion of the addendum to the Lot 95 License Contract that formally creates the Puinahua District Development Fund and that Perupetro's board of directors also approved the text of the addendum.
The fund is a PetroTal proposal that aims to promote growth and progress in its area of influence with the voluntary contribution of 2.5% of the value of its controlled oil production to finance projects that generate wellbeing in the population, provided that there are no stoppages due to social conflicts.
The addendum must now receive the approval of the Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Ministry of Economy and Finance before the President of Peru signs the supreme decree authorizing the modification of the license agreement between Perupetro and PetroTal. In the meantime, the company will continue to deposit the contributions to the fund to a bank account under the terms of the addendum.
The contributions made since January have made it possible to provide direct benefits to the population of Puinahua through the voluntary solidarity economic contribution that was given to widows, teenage mothers, people with health problems and people over 18 years of age who are registered on the electoral roll.
Production
Since December 16, thanks to the climate of peace and order that was restored in the Puinahua district, PetroTal has reached an average production of 20,000 bopd, a figure that consolidates its position as the country's leading crude oil producer.
