PetroTal, a company led and operated by Peruvians, reached a record production of 19,031 barrels of oil per day in the second quarter of the year in Block 95 (Loreto), which translates into greater resources for the State, the Loreto region and the Development Fund for the Puinahua District. PetroTal, a company led and operated by Peruvians, reached a record production of 19,031 barrels of oil per day in the second quarter of the year in Block 95 (Loreto), which translates into greater resources for the State, the Loreto region and the Development Fund for the Puinahua District.

This result was underpinned by robust production from the company's recently drilled 15H well and by reaching its highest sales volume for most of the period.

"The PetroTal team satisfactorily surpassed the goals set for the second quarter. This operational achievement is complemented by our environmental and social efforts to maintain our position as a benchmark for sustainable oil activity," remarked Guillermo Flórez, PetroTal's general manager.

Social climate

PetroTal informed that the operation of the Bretaña Norte field, the one with the highest oil production at national level, and the fluvial transportation through Puinahua are currently being carried out normally.

He also highlighted the result of the dialogue promoted by the Government, which has allowed the installation of the Initial Committee of the Development Fund for the Puinahua District (Fund 2.5) proposed by the company to finance development projects for the benefit of the population.

Although PetroTal is not part of the Initial Committee, its members (Perupetro, Puinahua District Municipality and the social organizations JAP and Aidecobap) are committed to form a definitive Board of Directors of the 2.5 Fund to ensure the transparent execution of the projects and the participation of the population in the management of the resources provided by the company.

Guillermo Flórez pointed out the importance and need to maintain a climate of peace in the Puinahua district that favors the productivity of Block 95, the main generator of oil royalties for Loreto, and allows the 2.5 Fund to start operating -with the creation of its administrative board-, as well as ensuring more resources for this initiative, due to the sustained and growing production of the Bretaña Norte field.
