Schoolchildren from seven localities in the district of Puinahua (Requena, Loreto) have access to a better infrastructure to study in a safe and orderly manner, thanks to the classrooms and modules built and improved in their locality.

This important work, which required an investment of more than S/. 600,000, is part of the first group of projects executed under the inter-institutional cooperation agreement signed between PetroTal, a company led and operated by Peruvians, and the Board of Authorities of Puinahua (JAP).

Students from more than 340 households in the localities of Nueva Independencia, 7 de junio, Las Palmas, Bellavista, San Pedro II, Manco Cápac and San Carlos are the beneficiaries of these projects, which were prioritized by the population itself.

The educational infrastructure built or improved in each locality includes, on average, three spaces: two classrooms and an administration office, built with solid wood or concrete bases, depending on the geography of the area.

PetroTal highlighted the concrete results achieved as a result of the dialogue with the authorities gathered at the JAP, and ratified its willingness to continue working in a coordinated manner to carry out the other projects contemplated in the agreement, which imply a total investment of more than S/. 1.4 million in works and interventions for the benefit of all the localities of the district. He also highlighted the access to a better education, more egalitarian and without discrimination, since both natives and mestizos will study in these classrooms. He also added that schoolchildren and teachers will benefit from having classes in spaces suitable for educational activities.
