▫︎ Participative workshops were held to gather input from local authorities and leaders.
The Concerted Local Development Plan (PDLC) of Puinahua 2024-2034 was prepared with the participation of authorities and leaders from all localities and communities in the district, who contributed their ideas, concerns and vision of development for the next 10 years.
To this end, decentralized workshops were held with the active participation of the district authority, councilors, officials, local authorities, representatives of civil organizations such as the APAFA, fishermen's associations, farmers, among others, in the 18 towns and communities of the Puinahua district.
These workshops were preceded by a preparatory stage and an induction process that involved officials from the District Municipality of Puinahua (which promotes the initiative with the support of PetroTal), the Regional Government of Loreto, among other stakeholders.
The process for the preparation of the plan - which is led by the mayor of Puinahua, Giordano Mendoza - follows the guidelines of the National Planning Center (CEPLAN) and will allow the district where the Bretaña Norte del Lote 95 field is located to have a municipal management tool that will help identify and optimize the execution of development projects with a vision for the next 10 years.
The PDLC will be of vital importance to promote an accelerated transformation of Puinahua, especially if we take into account that the district, which has 78% of basic needs to cover, receives from this year onwards higher transfers of oil royalties for the operation of Lot 95 and a budget for the so-called Gap Closure Plan, among other resources.
The articulation between the municipality of Puinahua and PetroTal, operator of Block 95, and main generator of royalties for Puinahua and Loreto, seeks to build a roadmap so that the next decade will see noticeable and sustainable changes for the benefit of the population of the entire district.
As you remember the 18 localities and communities that make up the district of Puinahua are: Bretaña (the capital), Jorge Chávez, 7 de Junio, San José, Atún Poza, San Juan de Páucar, San Pedro I, San Pedro II, Manco Cápac, Áncash, Huacrachiro, San Miguel, Urarinas, Nuevo Kuwait, San Carlos, Bellavista, Las Palmas and Nueva Independencia.
