Guillermo Flórez Mecklemburg, an industrial engineer by profession, assumed this week the general management of PetroTal, a company led and operated by Peruvians, which is dedicated to the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons and currently operates Block 95, in the Loreto region.
Previously, he served as Deputy General Manager and was in charge of Commercial Management and Planning since the beginning of its operations, participating in the operational and financial growth of the country's main crude oil producer at present.
Guillermo Flórez also held executive positions in companies such as BPZ Energy, Frontera Energy and held a internship at Total Energies. Academically, he holds an MBA specializing in Oil and Gas Management from Robert Gordon University (UK), energy and leadership studies at Rice University (Houston) and sustainability studies at MIT Sloan School of Management (Massachusetts), among others.
PetroTal's new general manager has extensive experience in the hydrocarbons industry and proven capacity in project management, business development, strategic planning and contract administration. Guillermo Flórez succeeds Luis Pantoja who served in the position for almost a year and a half.
