More than 70 workers, including contractors and personnel of PetroTal, a company led and operated by Peruvians, participated in the First Congress on Occupational Health and Safety organized by the operator of Block 95 (Loreto).
This meeting, which was held on September 15 and 16 in the city of Iquitos, fulfilled the primary objective of strengthening the culture of occupational health and safety in the company, through a series of conferences in which technical, technological, legal and methodological aspects of this crucial subject were developed.
PetroTal's Occupational Health and Safety (H&S) Management emphasized that the congress helped to cement the pillars and guidelines of the company's H&S management model in fundamental aspects such as empowerment, accountability and management with contractors.

It also helped to standardize the Industrial Safety and Occupational Health guidelines in the operations of Lot 95, to show the company's H&S culture, to integrate operational concepts regarding process safety, among others.
“At the end of the day, one of the achievements and satisfactions obtained in a highly efficient and productive operation such as Block 95 is that all workers complete their work safely, without incidents and in good health,” said H&S management.
The presentations at the congress were given by managers and heads of various areas of the oil company, as well as senior executives of its contractors, such as Lamor, Petrex and Sertecpet, and the regulatory agency (Osinergmin), among others.
Among the topics discussed at the meeting were H&S management at PetroTal, the key elements of risk management in the company, process safety (Safety Process), project activities, hydrocarbon river transport, accident investigation, among others.
