The operator of Block 95 has compensation strategies aligned with the fight against climate change.
PetroTal, operator of Block 95, received the second star of the Peru Carbon Footprint Program promoted by the State, through the Ministry of the Environment (Minam). This recognition was the result of an external audit of the company's calculation of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The company, which operates the Bretaña Norte field in Block 95 (located in the Puinahua district), has offset strategies aligned with the fight against climate change, the commitments made by Peru in the Paris Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. It also has a short, medium and long term plan to gradually reduce its GHG emissions in Block 95.
The Peru Carbon Footprint is an innovative tool of the Peruvian State that allows official recognition of the efforts made by public and private organizations to reduce their GHG emissions, through measurement and reporting of actions to reduce and/or neutralize them.
