PetroTal, the company that operates the Lot 95 (Loreto), reported that, since the end of April approximately, the oil processing capacity of the Bretaña Field reached 26,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd).

This breakthrough was made possible by the efficient execution of its fourth crude oil treatment train, This infrastructure will boost the productivity of the oil field located in the Puinahua district of Loreto. This new facility, together with the projects in PetroTal's portfolio, responds to the roadmap designed for the development of the Brittany Field and the growth of the economic and social benefits generated by its operation.

“We are prepared to manage important projects for the remainder of the year, such as development drilling in Block 131 and erosion control in Brittany,” said Guillermo Flórez, PetroTal's general manager.

He specified that, through Ucawa Energy, the company seeks to recovering the production of the Los Angeles field - Lot 131, by means of work overhauling existing wells and drilling new development wells. He added that the company continues to execute the project that will protect the facilities of the Brittany Field and the surrounding community from erosion. “This project is an example of the sustainable investments we are developing in line with our purpose,” he said.

Records in the first quarter

The company highlighted the milestones achieved in the first quarter (1Q) of 2025 for the operation of the Brittany (Block 95) and Los Angeles (Block 131) fields. In terms of production, PetroTal recorded an average of 23,281 bopd, while at the commercial level, it reached 23,286 bopd with record exports via Brazil to the Atlantic.

“To date, we are still in very preliminary discussions to get the necessary conditions and to be able to use the Norperuvian Pipeline again. (ONP) operated by Petroperu,” he said.

These operational and commercial records were reflected in solid financial results which generated dividends for their investors and contributed to the dynamism of the national and regional economy. “The 1Q achievements reflect the solid execution of our 2024 drilling program. In that period we successfully operated close to 100% of our capacity in an environment of social peace and taking advantage of the rising rivers,” explained Guillermo Flórez.

Nearly S/100 million contributed to the Fund 2.5

As of last April, PetroTal has contributed S/97.7 million to the Permanent Fund for the Development of the Puinahua District (Fondo Permanente para el Desarrollo del Distrito de Puinahua (Fund 2.5), The purpose of this program is to finance projects aimed at local development and the closing of gaps, thanks to the sustained production of Campo Brittany, in an environment of peace and social order.

This support will allow the most vulnerable families to be able to meet their basic needs, The company's goal is to provide food, buy food, and cope with this difficult stage with greater dignity.

But the 2.5 Fund's commitment goes beyond the immediate response. For this reason, the board and its Advisory Committee - made up of representatives from all the localities and communities - have been working together to develop a work key initiatives for the sustainable development of Puinahua, The company has also provided more than 280 scholarships for higher education students and deployed Internet and cell phone connectivity services throughout the jurisdiction, among other projects aligned with the fund's long-term vision and purpose.
