The Permanent Fund for the Development of the District of Puinahua, known as Fund 2.5, reached a new milestone by the more than S/100 million that PetroTal, the operator of Block 95, has contributed between January 2022 and May of this year.

The purpose of Fund 2.5 is to finance projects that contribute, in a direct way, to to close gaps and improve the quality of life of the district's population. where the company operates the Brittany Field.

During this period, PetroTal has totaled S/100.3 million of contributions 2.5% of the value of Brittany's controlled oil production - equivalent to 2.5% of the value of Brittany's controlled oil production - to the 2.5 Fund, an initiative that seeks to combine oil activity with local development and social peace.

About S/21 million of the Fund 2.5 have been executed in solidarity support projects (bonds) which helped to alleviate the economy of Puinahua families in 2022, 2023 and 2024, in the face of exceptional situations such as climatic phenomena (floods) and others.

In addition, last May, the fund's Board of Directors -composed of Perupetro, the Municipality of Puinahua and the organizations JAP and Aidecobap- approved the “Higher technical and university education program”.”, The project includes the financing of approximately 280 higher education scholarships for the benefit of students in the oil district.

The License Agreement for Block 95 states that PetroTal's contributions will be production and transportation of hydrocarbons are carried out provided that the production and transportation of hydrocarbons in the district are not affected by social conflicts.  

The choice of the projects financed with the fund is vested in the Board of Directors, The project has a consultative committee made up of representatives from the district's towns and communities. Among the projects being evaluated are internet connectivity and mobile telephony throughout Puinahua.
