▫︎ With the support of PetroTal's SATI project, they will be able to produce high quality certified seeds from their harvest and earn significant income.

Farmers in the communities of Huacrachiro and Áncash, in the district of Puinahua, more than 20 tons of corn were harvested to produceand subsequently commercialize high quality certified seeds in the Loreto market.

These entrepreneurs are supported by the SATI project (Integral Technical Advisory System) of PetroTal, operator of the Lot 95The purpose of the project is to promote agricultural, aquaculture and small animal husbandry initiatives in the district.

Farmers in the community of Huacrachiro are grouped in the company El Rey Selva and the Los Chamberos association and, in the case of Ancash, in the company Los Torneros de Áncash.

In total, it is estimated that 15 tons of certified corn seeds will be obtained.This product is in high demand, especially by the Regional Management of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Gerdagri) of Loreto.

The certified seeds of these enterprises can be sold up to S/8 per kiloThis price is 8 times higher than the price paid for uncertified product (S/1 per kilo), which represents an important income for farmers and their families, according to SATI.

SATI technicians provide a constant support to entrepreneurs that are part of the PetroTal project. In the case of seed farmers, the work carried out by SATI with the support of the health authority, SENASA, has enabled the certification of the entire process, from planting to harvesting.

Through SATI, PetroTal seeks to ensure that the ideas and business potential of its neighbors in Puinahua, the district where the Bretaña Norte field operates, can germinate into concrete and profitable projects.
